‘I Can Confirm That It’s a Good Idea’ – Borussia Dortmund Manager Applauds Achraf Hakimi Transfer to PSG

The arrival of Inter Milan right-back Achraf Hakimi at Paris Saint-Germain should fall in the coming days. The transfer of the 22-year-old defender is a successful recruitment, according to his former coach at Borussia Dortmund, Lucien Favre.

Favre spoke with Le Parisien (via Paris Fans) to discuss the arrival of Hakimi to the French giants. The Swiss tactician is familiar with Hakimi and provided insight into what supporters can expect from the Moroccan international.

“I can confirm that it’s a good idea. Not only is [Hakimi] a great player, but he is also a great guy who speaks French, despite being born in Madrid and of Moroccan nationality. If you know how to put him at ease, he’s someone who gives you a lot in return,” Favre said.

“He does have a good reputation and, in my opinion, it is justified. [Hakimi] is a good guy, always ready to work. He is a player who has above-average percussion qualities. He’s very fast, and its ball penetrating qualities make it very dangerous. He relies on a phenomenal speed, and as he is physical, he recovers well from his efforts.”

PSG has long looked to improve its full-back position. It seems they’re finally ready to spend top dollar to address the issue. Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano has announced that Inter Milan will receive €60-million plus €10-million in add ons.

The capital club wants to spend big this summer showing their two superstars, especially Kylian Mbappé., that they can build a squad to win the UEFA Champions League.

Hakimi is the first domino to fall is Hakimi, who already joins an impressive list of new players in Georginio Wijnaldum, Gianluigi Donnarumma reportedly Sergio Ramos.
