Former Argentine defender Oscar Ruggeri said he would give Neymar “a good kick” for his showboating at the 2021 Copa America tournament.
Neymar has been lauded by many for his recent performances at the Copa America.
The Paris Saint-Germain forward has managed to lead Brazil to the final of this tournament thanks to his five goal contributions, which include the game-winning assist against Peru in the semifinal round.
While many have been left in awe of Neymar’s showings at this tournament, Ruggeri is not much a fan of the Brazilian’s extravagant actions as of late.
Ruggeri spoke further during the ESPN Argentina show “F90“ (via TNT Sports) about the PSG star’s recent antics at this tournament.
“If it’s 4-0, he makes a joke, pulls one way, pulls the other way, what would you do?” Ruggeri said. “Since we wouldn’t be able to stop him, I would give him a good kick.
“Neymar is different. Not like Messi, but he is different from the others. If it’s 4-0, Neymar doesn’t respect the code on the field and makes plays when the opponent is already down.”
The PSG forward is currently looking ahead to the 2021 Copa America Final, where the Brazilian national team will go up against either Argentina or Colombia.
Either potential matchup would surely be a must-watch one for many world football fans.
