Video: ‘We Have an Obvious Opinion’ – Tite Confirms the Brazil National Team Squad Questions Whether to Play in Copa América

The Brazil national team will be taking on Ecuador in Porto Alegre in CONMEBOL’s latest round of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixtures. 

However, next week, the Copa América gets underway in Brazil, and there are some players on the Seleção who question whether they want to participate in the tournament. 

Manager Tite confirmed that the veteran players on the squad expressed their dissatisfaction with discovering through the press and social media that Brazil will host the tournament. They also asked about the probability of the competition not being held.

“We have an obvious opinion, and we loyally, in a chronological sequence, Juninho and I, expressing our opinion to the president. Afterward, we asked athletes to focus only on the game against Ecuador. Afterward, they requested a direct conversation with the president,” Tite said. 

“It was a very clear, straightforward conversation. From then on, the position of the athletes was also clear. We have a position, but we’re not going to make that out right now. We have a priority now to play well and win the game against Ecuador. We understand that after this FIFA Date, the situations will become clear.”
