Verratti not only earned a start against Wales but also orchestrated one formidable performance over the fixture.
The PSG talent recorded an assist, completed 103 passes, created five goal-scoring chances for teammates, notched eight ground duels and won four tackles in Italy’s final group stage fixture of the tournament.
Verratti made a strong case to be a starter for Italy over its upcoming Euro knockout stage run.
