Brazil and Venezuela kicked off the Copa América, originally scheduled to take place in Argentina and Colombia. However, after those two countries backed out due to the coronavirus pandemic and national protest.

Now the tournament is occurring in Brazil, and the Seleção opened up the scoring thanks to Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos. The defender scored off a set piece to give his squad a 1-0 lead against Venezuela.

The Brazilians will look to secure all three points to kick off the tournament on a positive note.
