Former Real Madrid full-back Roberto Carlos became the latest former player to provide a take on the rumors linking Kylian Mbappe to Los Blancos.
As Mbappe has not provided a public declaration regarding his future at PSG, the rumors have continued to swirl over a potential transfer to Real Madrid.
Mbappe is well expected to make a final decision on this matter following the France national team’s UEFA Euro 2020 run.
As Roberto Carlos is currently one of Real Madrid’s worldwide ambassadors, he is not able to join other former Los Blancos players in making a public pitch as to why the forward should join the Spanish side. But in speaking to Onze Mondial, he did briefly touch on this rumor.
“I am a huge fan of Kylian Mbappe,” Carlos said. “I thank him very much for putting me in his historic eleven. He is a very important player for the football world.
“We talk a lot about him at Real Madrid. However, he has a contract with PSG, and our philosophy is first and foremost centered on what the player wants.
“So far, we haven’t approached any contracted players.”
The wait will continue over whether Mbappe will end up staying at PSG.
