PSG Mercato: Paris Views Barcelona Transfer Target Pau Torres as a Possible Alternative to Ramos

Paris Saint-Germain has already strengthened its midfield depth this summer with the free transfer signing of Georginio Wijnaldum.

Now, PSG sporting director Leonardo has turned his attention to the center-back market and is now zoning in on one rising La Liga star.

As noted by the German-based outlet Sport Bild, PSG is showing a transfer interest in Spanish international and Villarreal center-back Pau Torres.

PSG is reportedly among the early clubs in the free transfer race for soon-to-be former Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos. In the case that PSG fails to haul in Ramos, the French powerhouse would turn its attention to other reliable center-back options, including Torres.

PSG would have competition from the likes of Barcelona for Torres, as one recent report noted that the Catalan giants are growing intrigued with the possibility of signing the Spanish talent.

Torres has garnered much attention from European clubs over the past months due to his recent standout performances. The promising La Liga talent shined over Villarreal’s Europa League-winning campaign and has topped it off with impressive showings over Spain’s current Euro 2020 run.

PSG would have to shell out €60+ million for Torres, so it remains to be seen whether club officials plan to go all out for this potential blockbuster signing.
