Paris Saint-Germain has a dilemma on their hands at striker. Moise Kean will be returning to Everton FC unless a deal between the two parties can occur. Then there’s the ongoing interest from Italian clubs regarding Mauro Icardi.
Recently, Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano touched on the possible departures, and he included Icardi as a name that could be leaving. Meanwhile, Everton will wait until it appoints a new manager to figure out what the future is for Kean.
Nonetheless, it’s possible that both these two strikers return. Then there’s the other aspect that could see one or none of them come back to the French capital next season.
As a result, PSG sporting director Leonardo could be looking at another striker, one with more height to take advantage of crosses and other areal instances to score goals.
Italian football journalist Alfredo Pedullà reports that PSG recently surveyed Lazio forward Joaquin Correa. The forward’s 6′ 2″ frame would be a more prominent presence in the box than Kean (6′ 0″) and Icardi (5′ 11″).
The Italian club needs to sell, and the 26-year-old is the marquee chip they hope to use to bring in a significant transfer sum. The report adds that Lazio wants €40-million for the Argentina international.
Furthermore, it should be noted that Correa’s agent is Alessandro Lucci, who is the same agent for Alessandro Florenzi, so there’s a relationship there. Correa has made 117 appearances for Lazio, scoring 30 goals and registering 18 assists.
