PSG Mercato: Paris SG Close to Securing the Free Transfer of Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma; Could Sign Deal Tuesday

Paris Saint-Germain will reportedly have another signing in the chamber as it appears they’re landing AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. The 22-year-old’s contract with the Italian club expires later this month and arrives on a free transfer.

Both Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano and Nicolò Schira confirm the deal is nearly complete.

Romano adds that Keylor Navas will remain with the French giants, and Donnarumma will be asking for the No. 99 kit ahead of his arrival. Meanwhile, Schira reports the contract is until 2026 with an annual salary of €10-million with €2-million in bonuses.

Now comes the tricky part of transitioning from Navas, who continues to play at a high-level, but is 34-years-old, to Donnarumma. Naturally, some will criticize Les Parisiens for pursuing a goalkeeper while having Navas.

Still, as La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Canal Supporters) states, PSG couldn’t ignore the prospect of securing a young goalkeeper of Donnarumma’s level for the future, considering it’s a free transfer.

When it comes to a possible announcement of a deal, Corriere della Sera and Il Giornale (via Paris Fans) report the agreement between both parties could be announced Tuesday.

Donnarumma has made 251 appearances for AC Milan in his young career while registering 88 clean sheets.
