Georginio Wijnaldum seems to be the first recruit of the summer as Paris Saint-Germain improves its squad ahead of the 2021-22 season. One of the more vocal persons behind this move occurring is manager Mauricio Pochettino.
According to RMC Sport journalist Loïc Tanzi, the Argentine tactician is in constant communication with the 30-year-old. Wijnaldum is a transfer target requested by Pochettino, considering he’s familiar with the player from his time managing in the Premier League.
Over the last couple of weeks, Pochettino was the subject of various rumors regarding a possible departure from the French giants since he didn’t like the behind-the-scenes operations of the club.
Nonetheless, Les Parisiens appear to value their manager as they pursued a player that he desired to incorporate into the squad as he molds it into his vision. Furthermore, they took a player who appeared on his way to joining FC Barcelona, which will only add to the tensions between the two clubs.
