Georginio Wijnaldum appears on his way to joining Paris Saint-Germain after the capital club came in at the last minute to grab the 30-year-old from FC Barcelona.
Various reports state that the French giants doubled the wage offer that Barcelona had in its contract for Wijnaldum. However, with the Spanish club unwilling to improve the financial aspects of their proposed deal, the Liverpool midfielder decided to choose PSG.
Paris Fans report the annual salary that Les Parisiens are willing to offer Wijnaldum. The French media outlet states that the Netherlands international will be making €7.5 million per season until 2024, with various bonuses planned.
Some could see this as a relatively high amount, but at least it allows to acquire a great player who manager Mauricio Pochettino requested. Furthermore, the pending arrival of Wijnaldum comes on a free transfer, meaning if they sell a midfielder such as Ander Herrera or Danilo Pereira, their transfer sum can go to their budget since they’ll have a replacement.
