PSG Mercato: Barcelona Won’t Improve Its Wage Offer for Georginio Wijnaldum; Must Decide Between Spanish Side or Paris SG

Paris Saint-Germain wants to hijack the potential transfer of Georginio Wijnaldum to FC Barcelona. At the last minute, the capital club has come in at the last minute with an improved wage offer even though the Spanish side has a verbal agreement with the 30-year-old’s agent.

Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona isn’t willing to increase its wage offer to Wijnaldum, who will be departing Liverpool FC later this month when his contract expires. The deal on the table for the midfielder is all that the La Liga club wants to offer.

The report adds that Barcelona wants to send a clear message to any player looking to join their squad; they have evident economic limits. So Wijnaldum is the one who must decide now, evaluating whether he wants to play in Barcelona or take the more lucrative contract from PSG.

Right now, the Spanish media outlet puts it at 50-percent that Wijnaldum accepts Barcelona’s offer. Furthermore, PSG’s possible attempt to highjack Wijnaldum from Barcelona isn’t the only player Les Parisiens wants to grab.

Mundo Deportivo also reports that the French giants also eye Memphis Depay as a possible alternative should they decide to move on from Moise Kean, who will return to Everton FC.
