PSG Mercato: Alphonse Areola Could Head Out to Another Loan Stint as Celta Vigo Expresses Interest

Alphonse Areola remains under contract with Paris Saint-Germain until 2023. The 28-year-old remains under contract until 2023 but isn’t someone who enters the capital club’s plans.

With Keylor Navas and the pending arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma, there isn’t any room. Areola had a good stint with Fulham despite the club earning relegation from the Premier League.

Now the France international could go out on loan for a third straight season following loan stints with Real Madrid and Fulham. According to La Voz de Galicia (via Canal Supporters), Areola appears to be a target for Spanish club Celta Vigo.

The Spanish club is in the market for a goalkeeper this summer, and they have reportedly stepped up discussions for Areola. La Liga is a league that the PSG shot-stopper is familiar with during two different loan stints with Villarreal in 2015-16 and Real Madrid 2019-20.

Over the last few weeks, Areola has seen his name to AS Roma as his agent Mino Raiola looks to find his client a club for 2021-22.
