Real Madrid’s interest in Kylian Mbappé doesn’t seem to be going away, but the possibility of a transfer to Los Blancos could be dwindling.
According to Cadena SER journalist Jesus Gallego (via Foot Mercato), Real Madrid doesn’t plan to add to their squad. They were only hoping for a possible transfer of Mbappé.
However, the Spanish journalist states that there’s growing concerned within Real Madrid that Paris Saint-Germin will provide an offer that the 22-year-old and his family can’t say not to this summer.
“Real Madrid will not recruit anyone this summer, they only had the hope of recruiting Mbappé and they saw that it was impossible,” Gallego said.
“What worries the club the most is the offer they (the leaders of PSG, editor’s note) will make to the Mbappé family to extend which will be unmatched for other clubs and impossible to refuse. No one will be able to say no to this offer. The richest family in the world will do everything to ensure that he stays.”
With the France national team crashing out in the UEFA Euros Round of 16, the 22-year-old will now need to shift his focus at the club level and see what he decides to do there.
PSG has hit the ground running, looking to improve its squad to show both superstars in Neymar and Mbappé that they want to build a team that wins them the UEFA Champions League.
