Neymar Moved Into a Tie With Lewandowski for the 5th Most International Goals Among Active Players

Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar provided for another top showing during the Brazilian national team’s 2022 World Cup qualifying fixture against Paraguay.

In the match, Neymar recorded a goal and an assist as he helped Brazil notch a convincing 2-0 win over Paraguay.

Overall, Neymar has now scored an impressive 66 international goals over 105 career appearances with Brazil. The PSG forward is now at a tie with Polish star Robert Lewandowski for the fifth-most international goals among active players.

Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo currently leads this leaderboard with 104 international goals.

Neymar could possibly soon pass former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi in this impressive stat. Messi currently sits at 72 career international goals, although the forward is expected to continue to add to this goal tally considering that he is not slated to retire from international play with the Argentinian national team anytime soon.

Neymar will now be looking ahead to leading Brazil in the upcoming Copa America tournament.
