Many expected Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe to shine in the UEFA Euro 2020 tournament, but this did not turn out to be the case in the end.
The France national team crashed out in the Euro 2020 Round of 16 following its stunning penalty shootout elimination at the hands of Switzerland.
Mbappe had one of the worst showings of his run with the France national team in this match.
The PSG forward tallied five off-target shots against Switzerland, including this notable miss in extra time.

In a moment that surprised many, Mbappe missed his penalty shootout attempt, which sent Switzerland to the next round of the Euro 2020 tournament.

Overall, Mbappe finished his Euro 2020 campaign with zero goals scored, one assist recorded and five big chances missed.
Mbappe surely does not deserve all the blame for Les Bleus’ shortcomings in this tournament, but many will single out his vast struggles as a reason why the side failed to meet its high expectations.
