‘Keep Your Head Up’ — Pele Shows Support to Mbappe Following the PSG Star’s Penalty Miss Against Switzerland

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe had one performance to forget in France’s Euro 2020 Round of 16 fixture against Switzerland.

Mbappe missed multiple key goal-scoring chances over the course of the match and then topped it all off with a penalty shootout miss that gifted Switzerland the win.

Over the past hours, many current and former players have come out in support of Mbappe following his lowlight performance in the match, including Pele.

The former Brazilian star took to Twitter to back Mbappe by providing the forward with some key advice.

“Keep your head up, Kylian!” Pele said. “Tomorrow is the first day of a new journey.”

Mbappe finished Euro 2020 play with the French national team having failed to score a single goal over four matches, although he did record an assist in the knockout stage fixture against Switzerland.

The PSG forward now looks ahead to the start of next season, where he surely will have a chip on his shoulder following this underwhelming tournament run.
