Mauricio Pochettino’s questionable future with Paris Saint-Germain has been among the top storylines in football today. Recent reports have noted that Pochettino is pondering whether to leave PSG following a mere one-season run with the club in favor of a possible return to Tottenham.
In a talk with the Evening Standard, Kane was asked whether he would consider staying with Tottenham should Pochettino return to the club. The reigning Premier League Golden Boot winner has been linked with a move away from Tottenham, especially as the side finished off the campaign on a sluggish note.
Kane elected not to give his firm stance on this matter but instead provided a mere two-word answer.
“No comment,” Kane said.
Kane shined under Pochettino during the Argentine’s notable run with the Premier League side. The two also formed a strong bond, which stands strong today.
“We got so close to winning it [Champions League] with Mauricio,” Kane said. “I would love to see him win it. We had a great relationship. He is a great person, a great friend.
“He was the boss, the leader, the one that set the standards in how we played and how we trained. So friendship would never get in the way of what he did on the football side of things.
“But we became friends in that the things we did and talked about went beyond football.”
Kane and the rest of his Tottenham teammates will surely keep a close eye on who the club plans to appoint to fill its managerial vacancy, whether it will be Pochettino or another manager.
