Florenzi Signals Out Mbappe as the ‘Best Player’ for the Upcoming Euro 2020 Tournament

Alessandro Florenzi called Paris Saint-Germain teammate Kylian Mbappe the clear-cut “best player” for the upcoming Euro 2020 tournament.

In his first season at PSG, Florenzi had a front view seat to arguably the most complete campaign of Mbappe’s Ligue 1 career. Mbappe once again finished as Ligue 1’s top scorer thanks to his 27 goals over 31 appearances in the season.

In speaking at a recent press conference (via La Gazzetta dello Sport) ahead of the Italian national team’s Euro 2020 group stage opener against Turkey, Florenzi lauded Mbappe and noted that even he does not know how to contain the forward’s prowess as a goal-scorer.

“France has Mbappe, the strongest player in the European Championship,” Florenzi said. “I saw him all year.

“How do you stop him? As a team. He’s the best at the Euros, maybe even in the world. In training, sometimes I didn’t manage to stop him, other times I did. Even on the Playstation, he’s hard to stop.”

Mbappe is well expected to be among the top contenders for the Euro 2020 Player of the Tournament award. The PSG star is also slated to rival the likes of Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo and England’s Harry Kane for the Euro 2020 Golden Boot award.

This will be a key international tournament for Mbappe at this stage in his career.
