Bayern Munich defender Lucas Hernandez backs French national team counterpart Kylian Mbappe to soon claim the title as the best player in the world.
Mbappe was lauded by many for his grand performances over the recent season. The Paris Saint-Germain forward put together numerous standout showings, including against the likes of Barcelona and FC Bayern Munich in UEFA Champions League knockout stage play.
Hernandez has a front-row view of Mbappe’s world-class prowess as they are French national side teammates. Time and time again, Mbappe continues to impress Hernandez.
Hernandez spoke to the Spanish-based outlet Cadena Ser about Mbappe and why he will become the next top player in world football.
“For him, he’s going to be the best player in the world in a short time,” Hernandez said. “I think he’s going to mark an era. I don’t know when, but he will mark it for sure.
“It is clear that Paris is going up in level, is becoming one of the great teams in Europe.”
Many can argue that the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo still have the edge over Mbappe in the top player in the world rankings. But as Hernandez claims, Mbappe is on track to dethrone the two and emerge as the clear best talent in the sport.
