AS Monaco Defender Henrique Responds to the Rumors of a Possible PSG or Barcelona Move

Brazilian defender Caio Henrique had one standout campaign with AS Monaco this past season. Thus, as with any promising defender, Henrique has been garnering interest from several notable European clubs for a possible transfer move.

One report last month noted that both Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are keeping a close watch on Henrique’s future with Monaco. Both clubs have not been reported to hold any serious interest in a transfer move for the Brazilian but are merely keeping tabs on the talent.

In speaking to Goal, Henrique did not hint at being open to leaving Monaco over the upcoming summer transfer window but rather welcomed the interest from such clubs for his services.

“I am very calm with all this,” Henrique said. “I try not to get involved and concentrate only on pitch and I leave it in the hands of my representatives.

“Of course, it is a great pleasure to hear about these very important clubs, but I have my feet on the ground and I always try to do my best, no matter where I am playing.

“I am very focused and committed to the jersey that I wear, and that will never change.”

The Brazilian left-back has four more seasons remaining on his current contract with Monaco.

If Henrique goes on to stay with Monaco past the upcoming summer transfer window, he will aim to help the Ligue 1 side secure a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League group stage.
