The Ligue de Football Professionnel’s Disciplinary committee has officially suspended Paris Saint-Germain midfielders Marco Verratti and Ander Herrera from the upcoming Coupe de France semifinal duel with Montpellier, as announced by the LFP’s official website.
Both PSG talents will miss this match due to a yellow card suspension. LFP rules state that players will earn a one-match suspension after receiving at least three yellow cards over a 10-match span.
Verratti and Herrera each received yellow cards during PSG’s recent league matchup against RC Lens. This amounted to their third yellow card over a 10-match span and thus, they each have been officially issued a suspension for PSG’s upcoming domestic cup bout with Montpellier.
PSG may now have to rely on the likes of Leandro Paredes and possibly Rafinha to lead the team’s midfield setup for this match in the absence of Verratti and Herrera.
PSG still has an aim at a possible domestic double-winning campaign.
