Tuchel Shares a Striking Difference Between Managing in the Premier League and Ligue 1

Former Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel says going from Ligue 1 to the Premier League has been a notable challenge for him.

Tuchel has had his fair share of tactical battles in both Ligue 1 and the Premier League. Over the first half of the season, the likes of AS Monaco and Olympique Lyonnais managed to pick up key league wins against the Tuchel-led PSG. But since arriving in the Premier League as Chelsea’s new manager, the German coach simply continues to pick up impressive league wins, such as against Everton.

Managing in two contrasting leagues has been one challenge for Tuchel this season, which he recently touched upon (via Bein Sports France).

“It’s brutal honestly, very brutal,” Tuchel said. “In France, we played the same number of games, two cups and there are also 20 teams in the league. But the intensity and the challenge of the league is really very different here. It’s a whole different level.”

Tuchel currently has Chelsea holding one of the top-four UEFA Champions League qualification spots in the Premier League table and in the final of the FA Cup competition. It is safe to say that the former PSG manager has well adapted to the Premier League.
