Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo has lauded Kylian Mbappe as one of the top players to watch in the sport today.
As of late, Mbappe has been gaining more recognition as one of the top goal-scorers in world football due to his recent strong performances in all competitions. From his key goals against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League to his superb outings in the Coupe de France tournament, Mbappe has continued to put together promising performances for PSG.
Ronaldo has taken notice of Mbappe — a player who many believe may soon replace the Portuguese star as one of the next top two players in the world. Ronaldo was recently asked by Livescore to compare Mbappe and Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland but instead of doing so, he gave his appreciation to the two.
“It’s hard to name a player and say he’ll be the best,” Ronaldo said. “But I think it’s exciting to see this new generation of players like Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé arriving. Some players can have a good season or two, but the real, great players are the ones who keep doing it season after season, and it’s not easy. It takes a lot of work and dedication.”
Mbappe recently clinched his first-ever 40-goal campaign in all competitions with the French powerhouse.
