Report: PSG Aiming to Have Mbappe Back for the Coupe De France Semi-Final Fixture

Paris Saint-Germain made the difficult decision to not start Kylian Mbappe in its UEFA Champions League semifinal second leg fixture against Manchester City. PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino explained before the match that the team’s medical staff felt that it was best for the forward to not start in this contest due to his right calf injury.

Mbappe did not go on to make an appearance in the match as PSG ended up crashing out of the Champions League competition.

For now, PSG still plans to be cautious with Mbappe’s calf injury. As noted by RMC Sport‘s Loic Tanzi, PSG is hoping to have Mbappe back in action by next week’s Coupe de France semifinal encounter with Montpellier.

PSG sure does not want Mbappe to reaggravate his injury, especially as the team still needs his presence for its final league matches of the season. PSG currently trails Ligue 1 leaders Lille OSC by a mere one point in the league standings.
