Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar aspires to represent Brazil in the upcoming Copa America tournament and Tokyo Olympic Games this summer, as noted by the Brazilian-based outlet UOL.

The 2021 Copa America will kick off on June 13 with the final being played on July 10. The postponed 2020 Summer Olympic Games will run from July 23 up until Aug. 8.

Neymar is aiming to not only appear in his first Copa America tournament since 2015 but also once again represent Brazil in the upcoming Summer Olympic Games.

Neymar has already brought forth this request to PSG club officials. However, PSG much prefers that the Brazilian forward elects to feature in only one of these two tournaments. For instance, if Neymar joins the Brazilian national team for the defense of its Copa America title, PSG does not want him to go on to feature in the Olympic Games but rather get ready for the team’s opening fixtures next season.

The PSG star is seeking a resolution with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on this matter.

Neymar already holds an Olympic Gold Medal but is yet to win the Copa America.
