PSG Mercato: Paris SG’s Leonardo Has Made Inquiries With Rennes for Eduardo Camavinga

The 2020-21 season is a difficult one for Paris Saint-Germain. The capital club’s Ligue 1 title hopes appear to be slipping, and their UEFA Champions League campaign ended in the semi-finals against Manchester City.

Regardless if the French giants win the league or not, significant changes need to occur, and it looks as though Les Parisiens are ready to go big game hunting.

According to Téléfoot (via Canal Supporters), Leonardo, PSG’s sporting director, has already inquired with Stade Rennais over what their plan is concerning Eduardo Camavinga.

The 18-year-old has one more year on his contract, so it seems as though Rennes will look to sell the teenager to the highest bidder as some of Europe’s biggest clubs have the player circled. Les Parisiens will need to dig into their bag of tricks, much like they did when they signed Kylian Mbappé to keep Camavinga in Ligue 1.

Furthermore, a transfer for the Rennes midfielder would show Mbappé that they’re serious about improving the squad and trying to win a Champions League while he and Neymar are in their prime years.

Camavinga has made 37 appearances for Rennes this season, scoring one goal and registering three assists while playing the majority of his time as a central midfielder.

When it comes to a potential cost, Camavinga’s transfer value sits at €60-million per Transfermarkt. This cost will go higher considering Europe’s top clubs are after the midfielder.
