Paris Saint-Germain has several positions that it will want to improve this summer as the capital club hopes to make another deep run in the UEFA Champions League next season.
One area that the French giants want to upgrade is in midfield, and they could be establishing talks for Stade Brest 29’s Romain Faivre. According to Le Parisien, Mauricio Pochettino is impressed by the 22-year-old’s abilities, so the Argentine tactician will push the player.
With Pochettino a fan of Faivre, the French media outlet states that PSG has contacted the midfielder’s entourage. However, no offer is on the table for the player, but expect discussions to continue until the end of the Ligue 1 season.
The capital club will face competition for the player from Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Leeds United, and AC Milan. There are no further details about what’s Brest asking price, but Le Parisien adds that Faivre is intrigued about playing for his hometown club.
Faivre has made 35 appearances for Brest, scoring six goals and five assists during his time there while mostly playing as a left midfielder.
