Over the last summer transfer window, Paris Saint-Germain was in the rumor mill for Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz. One report noted that PSG had an aim at signing Ruiz to bolster its midfield depth, but Napoli did not have any intention of parting ways with its workhorse midfielder.
Now, PSG is set to once again make a push to sign Ruiz. However, the French powerhouse will not be alone in its pursuit of the Spanish talent as the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid are also expected to show an interest in such a move, as noted by the Italian-based outlet Gazzetta dello Sport (via Le10Sport).
It is not known on the extent of the interest from the two La Liga sides for Ruiz. On the other hand, PSG will be closely monitoring Ruiz’s situation with Napoli.
For Napoli, the Italian side did not have any interest in selling Ruiz last year as it aimed instead to come to terms on a new contract agreement with the midfielder. The two sides have yet to agree upon such a deal.
Ruiz did not have his best campaign as a midfielder for Napoli but still managed to feature in 33 appearances for the side in Serie A play this past season. The Spanish talent posted a formidable 1.8 successful tackles per game average in league play over the campaign.
Ruiz currently has two more seasons remaining on his contract with Napoli.
