After scoring 20 goals in 34 appearances in his first season with Paris Saint-Germain, Mauro Icardi has endured a difficult second, one that might result in his departure from the capital club.
According to L’Equipe (via Canal Supporters), Icardi appears to have desires to head elsewhere, and it seems as though the leaders of the club have no plans in retaining him, but they aren’t actively looking to sell the 28-year-old.
However, the report states that Mauricio Pochettino wants to keep Icardi for another season with Les Parisiens. There are moments in which the Argentina international has found his form but in critical fixtures such as the second leg in the UEFA Champions League Semi-Final, where he made little impact.
Icardi has scored 12 goals in 26 appearances, and the French giants could look to offload his wages along with securing a transfer sum to help in their pursuit of other recruits this summer.
