Pochettino Hints at Possible Major Sporting Changes for Next Season

It was just a couple of weeks ago that Paris Saint-Germain faced the possibility of finishing off the ongoing campaign as a treble-winner. However, this drastically changed within mere days as PSG crashed out of the UEFA Champions League competition following its semifinal loss to Manchester City along with now being four points behind Lille OSC in the league table.

For the latter, PSG possibly squandered its chances of winning yet another Ligue 1 title following its draw result against Rennes. PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino comes away from the result disappointed with his side’s showing, which he touched upon further following the match (via Le Parisien).

“I think that today, beyond the attitude or the quality we had, we can simply say that we were not better than Rennes,” Pochettino said. “We didn’t deserve the three points, that’s all.

“This is a season with many ups and downs. We arrived four months ago with the ambition to help the players and the club. A lot has happened. Everything we see and all the information we gather should allow us to move forward for the future.”

More so, Pochettino also discussed on whether major sporting changes could be on the horizon in the upcoming summer transfer window. The Argentine manager did not pinpoint any changes that the club has in mind but did speculate that the team could see a notable roster turnaround.

“The club and all the technical staff are thinking about what can make the team better in the future,” Pochettino said. “Decisions will be made at the end of the season, in due course. This will be the result of discussions between the staff and the sports management.”

It will be interesting to see on just what PSG club officials have planned to revamp the squad.
