Neymar Goes In-Depth on Preferred Play Style With PSG

Neymar was the catalyst behind Paris Saint-Germain’s key Ligue 1 win against RC Lens on the recent matchday. The Brazilian forward scored a goal in the match and also played the role of being the team’s main playmaker as he recorded an assist and created five goal-scoring chances.

For Neymar, many have lauded his play style with PSG in being an attacking midfielder. The Brazilian has had success in distributing goal-scoring creating passes to teammates and carrying the ball into the final third with ease.

Neymar well prefers this play style on the pitch, which was seen in the recent encounter with RC Lens. The Brazilian forward touched on this matter during his talk with PSG TV.

“I like to play that way, touching the ball more, creating for the team both with and without the ball and dribbling a lot,” Neymar said. “It’s clear that it’s a different way of playing, that I need to beat my opponents, but the referees also need to understand it.”

As mentioned, Neymar scored a pivotal goal in the match, which can be credited to a key sequence by Julian Draxler.

“We pressed high up and Julian [Draxler] played my in first time, I was able to keep my composure to see the goalkeeper come out and chose to place it in the corner to score,” Neymar said.

Neymar now will look ahead to the upcoming UEFA Champions League semifinal second leg matchup with Manchester City.
