Neymar recently signed his long-awaited contract extension deal with Paris Saint-Germain. Neymar had hinted for a while that a new deal was on the horizon and now, he has finally put this contract extension saga behind him.
The Brazilian-based outlet UOL revealed further details on what helped convince Neymar to sign off on the new multiyear extension deal with the club.
The report notes that Neymar is well confident in PSG’s ability to continue to reinforce the squad. The Brazilian desires to remain in top contention to win the UEFA Champions League, and he sees that PSG is well capable of investing in the squad in order to stay among the serious contenders in the competition on a season-by-season basis.
More so, there is a commitment from the club to at the least make an attempt to sign his former teammate Lionel Messi in the upcoming summer transfer window. The Argentine is set to be without a contract in the coming months, which will give him the opportunity to leave Barcelona on a free transfer move.
It will be noteworthy to see the moves that PSG has in mind to help maintain its status as one of the top contenders in the Champions League competition.
