Navas has now won goalkeeper of the season awards in the UEFA Champions League, La Liga and Ligue 1 competitions. This is to add to the multitude of trophies that he has won in his club career so far, which includes a Ligue 1 title.
For Navas, this was one grand accomplishment in his career, especially as he has delivered for PSG countless times this season. The PSG goalkeeper provided his thoughts to Canal Plus on what it means to capture this notable honor.
“I thank God,” Navas said. “I thank everyone who voted for me. I try to be even better every season. Overall, I had a very good year, which I enjoyed and I tried to give the best of myself, that’s what makes me very calm.”
Navas has played a key role in PSG’s league campaign along with its Coupe de France triumph this season thanks to his pivotal saves in must-win matches. The Costa Rican goalkeeper will now be looking to help PSG finish off the league campaign with a strong win against Brest.
