Over the past few days, rumors surfaced over Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettion possibly departing the club despite being hired in January.
Reports were suggesting a return to Tottenham Hotspur or taking over for Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid. Nonetheless, PSG sporting director Leonardo debunked these reports over a Pochettino departure during an interview with French media outlets.
Furthermore, in Latin America, football reporter César Luis Merlo, who works for TyC Sports (Argentina) and Superdeportivo (Mexico), announced that the Argentine tactician’s entourage informed him that he plans to remain in Paris.
“It is confirmed to me by the entourage of Mauricio Pochettino that he will stay at PSG. He will not go to Real Madrid or Tottenham, who have shown their interest in him,” Merlo tweeted.
Despite the chatter of being upset and having arguments with Leonardo, these disagreements can happen at any club without the result turning into a departure by either the club chief or manager.
Now that this rumor appears to be behind the club, it can now focus on much more significant tasks on its agenda. The French giants need to secure a contract extension for Kylian Mbappé and improve its squad as it looks to reach the UEFA Champions League final once again.
