Paris Saint-Germain was without star forward Kylian Mbappe during its recent Ligue 1 away fixture against Rennes. PSG came away from the fixture without having scored an open play goal as the two sides drew at a 1-1 final score.
Mbappe has been one of PSG’s most important players during its Ligue 1 campaign this season. The French forward currently leads the league in goals scored with 25. The PSG star may end up falling short of the 30-goal figure, but this can not take away from just how crucial his play has been to the French powerhouse.
As noted by WhoScored, Mbappe has scored 25 out of PSG’s 80 goals in league play this season, which tops out at a 31% figure. Mbappe finished with 24% of PSG’s league goals last season with 18 out of the team’s 75 total goals scored.
Mbappe will now be looking towards possibly being fully fit for the team’s final matches of the season, which could include a possible Coupe de France final fixture
