Kean Omitted from the Italian National Team’s Euro 2020 Squad List

Paris Saint-Germain forward Moise Kean has been left out of the Italian national team’s latest Euro 2020 squad list.

Italian national team manager Roberto Mancini will make two more cuts before he reveals his final 26-man squad list for the upcoming Euros, and Kean will not make the team barring any last-minute changes.

On the other hand, PSG talents Marco Verratti and Alessandro Florenzi made the team and are expected to be regulars in Italy’s starting lineups throughout the tournament.

Kean earned a start for Italy in its recent international friendly fixture against San Marino. The PSG striker was subbed off at halftime, as he finished the opening half without scoring a goal.

It is not yet known whether Mancini omitted Kean due to his latest injury, or if the decision was solely based on tactical reasons. For now, Mancini will rely on a two-man rotation between Lazio’s Ciro Immobile and Torino’s Andrea Belotti for the team’s starting center forward role.

Kean will now look ahead to resolving his club future over the upcoming summer transfer window. The Italian goal-scorer is set to return to parent club Everton next month following his one-season loan stint with PSG, but the French powerhouse has been in the rumor mill about possibly signing the forward on a permanent transfer deal.

Kean scored 13 goals over the recent Ligue 1 campaign.
