Herrera Lauds Marquinhos and Navas as PSG’s Main Vocal Leaders

Ander Herrera gave his appreciation to Keylor Navas and Marquinhos for being Paris Saint-Germain’s top vocal leaders.

Navas and Marquinhos have surely exemplified their leadership traits on the field over the course of this season. The Costa Rican goalkeeper is well vocal throughout matches and communicates constantly with the team’s backline. And for Marquinhos, he has stepped up to the plate in replacing Thiago Silva as PSG’s new team captain.

Herrera notes the importance of having leaders like Navas and Marquinhos on the team. The Spanish midfielder spoke to PSG TV about these two talents along with his mentality in giving it his all for the team.

“Yes. I think that there are vocal leaders like Marquinhos or Keylor Navas, who speak a lot,” Herrera said. “And then we have other players who show a different type of leadership, by giving their all on the pitch.

“I want to show that I’m always ready to help my teammates. Whether I’m starting or coming off the bench I’m here to help. To me, football is a team sport and we all need to have the same goals that’s how I see it.

“Of course I hate losing games and sometimes I can’t decide the result but I can do as much as I can by having an exemplary behaviour and work hard all week to improve every day and every training session.”

Navas and Marquinhos have also earned respect from many with their play this season. The former Real Madrid talent has earned recognition for being one of the top goalkeepers in the world while the Brazilian defender continues to be lauded as one of the more reliable defensive talents today.
