Former Ballon d’Or Winner Platini Lauds Mbappe as One of the More ‘Complete’ Players Today

Former French international Michel Platini called Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe a “complete” player as a forward.

Mbappe recently capped off the first 40-goal campaign of his career. The PSG forward scored critical goals for the team in all competitions this past season, such as the key scores in the UEFA Champions League knockout stage and much-needed goals over the team’s Coupe de France-winning run.

Platini has well taken notice of Mbappe’s growth as a forward. The former Ballon d’Or winner spoke further to L’Equipe about just how well the PSG star continues to shine for the team.

“Mbappe is really complete,” Platini said. “He has a left foot and a right foot, is smart, and very, very quick to start. Plus, he’s got his head on his shoulders.

“It is also true that he has the chance to evolve at a time when we let him run. Today, football protects players like Mbappe, Messi or Ronaldo.”

Mbappe finished off the recent season with wins in the Trophee des Champions final against Olympique de Marseille and the Coupe de France final against AS Monaco. Even though PSG did not come away with yet another Ligue 1 title, Mbappe played a key role in the team’s league campaign, such as with the notable goals against the likes of Olympique Lyonnais.
