Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti went in-depth on the approach that his side will have for the upcoming UEFA Champions League semifinal first leg bout with Manchester City.
Verratti just returned from a minor thigh injury as he went on to feature for PSG in the Ligue 1 fixture against Metz. Verratti played in the entirety of the match and finished it off without any setbacks from his recent injury. Thus, the Italian midfielder now looks ahead to the massive showdown with Manchester City.
For Verratti, he sees that this upcoming fixture will be one challenge that will test the French powerhouse, which he detailed further during his talk with Canal Plus (via RMC Sport).
“We are on our way to win all the titles,” Verratti said. “That’s why we are coming to this game in the best possible shape. After that, Manchester City is in the same situation as us because they can also do the triple. They have confidence in themselves.
“It’s going to be a nice game, we know we have to be 100%. We are ready and we will fight for 90 minutes and then we will think about the return.”
As Verratti mentioned, PSG and Manchester City are still aiming for a historic treble-winning campaign. Both clubs have won a domestic treble before, but neither has so far pulled off a treble-winning run that included a Champions League win, which the two sides are striving to accomplish this season.
