Paris Saint-Germain will welcome FC Bayern Munich to the French capital for the second leg of their UEFA Champions League matchup. Les Parisiens walked away with a 3-2 result on the road on a snowy night in Munich.
The capital club knows what’s at stake over these 90 minutes—a chance to punch their ticket to the semi-finals. There’s no need to motivate the squad to eliminate Bayern Munich after last year’s final.
However, Joshua Kimmich might have provided some bulletin board material as the squads are hours away from the anticipated second leg. In an interview with Bayern Munich’s official website, they asked why he believes the Bavarian club will advance to the semi-finals.
“Because we are the better team, I am convinced that we will get through,” Kimmich said. “We were the better team in the first leg, but unfortunately, the result wasn’t up to par. But I am still convinced that we can turn it around in the second leg.”
Bayern Munich is the reigning Champions League titleholder, but saying they’re the better team isn’t something that doesn’t need to be stated to a public outlet. Perhaps say it among the squad, but provide some respect to PSG, who defeated the German giants at home.
