Video: ‘Without the Super League, It’s Impossible’ – Real Madrid President Comments on Their Pursuit of Kylian Mbappé

The Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid rumors are ongoing; various reports have the 22-year-old house hunting in the Spanish and taking his measurements for a Los Blancos kit. Nonetheless, contract extension talks between the forward and Paris Saint-Germain continue.

Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez had an in-depth interview with El Larguero where Diario AS relaid his comments. One of the questions that Pérez answered is about Mbappé and whether they could pursue the forward considering the Spanish club’s financial situation.

“Big transfers this summer? Without the Super League, it’s impossible. Neither for Real Madrid or any another,” Pérez said. “If Mbappé does not come this year, no one will kill themselves. If things don’t get done, it’s because they can’t be done. I think the club members are satisfied with my work.”

One of the reasons Real Madrid wanted the European Super League to happen was for the money it would bring into the clubs. The infusion of cash from this tournament would allow Los Blancos to continue their careless spending without many consequences.
