In the first leg, one of the areas that Paris Saint-Germain exploited was Bayern Munich’s tactics that allow for Kylian Mbappé to have space where he used his speed to score two goals, resulting in the capital club’s 3-2 victory.
Bayern Munich forward Thomas Müller spoke to the media at a press conference where he answered a question over their game plan that allows Mbappé to take advantage of their tactics. Canal Supporters relayed the comments from the 31-year-old.
“It’s true, especially for Mbappé, who is very dangerous. But with the way we play, it’s normal to have these spaces. Our idea is that they don’t get the ball. We have to hinder the ferryman; otherwise, we will have a big problem,” Müller said.
“In Paris, Neymar and Mbappé often stay very high; they are passive in defense and remain dangerous for the opponent. It’s up to us to take measures and manage this risk well. We also need a little luck because we cannot control Neymar, Mbappé, or Di María during the whole match. We have to lower their probability of scoring goals.”
