Paris Saint-Germain will be without Marquinhos heading into the second leg against FC Bayern Munich. The capital club will rely heavily on Presnel Kimepmbe to anchor the backline as they try to main their one-goal advantage.
During his press conference, Kimpembe spoke about the squad’s changes with no Maqruinhos in the lineup. Culture PSG relayed the comments from the 25-year-old.
“We all know the qualities of Marqui; he is the leader of the defense and the captain of the team, so it would necessarily be a lack if he were not to be there. But we have very great players in this team; some will make up for his absence. It is the club and the coach who will be able to answer on this subject,” Kimpembe said.
Kimpembe also touched on whether he faces pressure with no Marquinhos in the lineup against Bayern Munich.
“I am a competitor,” Kimpembe said. “I like the responsibilities. Being able to wear the armband is a lot of confidence in the club and the coach. I wear it with great pride and great pleasure. I try to share my positive energy with the whole team.”
