After giving up the fixture’s first goal to AS Saint-Etienne, Kylian Mbappé scored two straight goals. In the end, Paris Saint-Germain would come away with a 3-2 victory. Mauro Icardi would score the eventual game-winner with seconds left in the added time.
Mbappé spoke to Canal Plus, where he discussed the win and even mentioned that it’s not easy winning Ligue 1 despite what others claim. Canal Supporters would relay the 22-year-old’s postmatch comments with the French media outlet.
“We got into a bit of trouble. When we lead 2-1 like that, we have to keep the score but after that, we didn’t give up, we want to win because the championship is extremely important for us. It is a primary objective. It would be our 10th and the club, we want to participate in the club’s history,” Mbappé said.
“We want to win, we want to win, we are competitors. People think it’s easy to win (Ligue 1), this year it’s not easy. We want to continue to do it like the other years and for that, we have to give our all and win all our matches. Has thinking about my future advanced? No, we win the matches that are the most important.”
