Paris Saint-Germain has two players who want to challenge Ballon d’Or in Neymar Jr. and Kylian Mbappé as both hope to raise football’s highest individual honor soon. The 29-year-old spoke to the media at a press conference where Canal Supporters relayed his comments.
Neymar answered a question concerning whether he discusses winning the Ballon d’Or with Mbappé. Although the Brazil international wants to win the award, Neymar wants to win one trophy at the club level first, the UEFA Champions League.
“I feel good. My first goal is the Champions League and not the Ballon d’Or,” Neymar said. “It’s not the first thing that’s on my mind right now. Me, I want to wear this match and have this Champions League, so in the future, I could tell myself that I would have won 1, 2 or 3 Champions League. I want to help PSG get this trophy. About Mbappé? He’s a very great player; he helps us and scores goals. I hope he reaches his maximum potential. He’s a great player.”
