Neymar Jr. returned to the Paris Saint-Germain starting eleven against Lille OSC. The 29-year-old didn’t have a quality match last weekend, as Neymar would receive a red card in the final minutes as the capital club was hoping to score the equalizer; however, they’d fall 1-0 to Les Dogues.
During his press conference PSG captain, Marquinhos spoke about the mental state of Neymar after receiving the red card and having an underwhelming performance against Lille as the French giants conceded first place.
Canal Supporters relayed the comments made by the 26-year-old.
“I have known him for many years. He’s a competitive player. If we look at the action against LOSC, he received a foul, and he wanted to recover the ball. He put a lot of commitment,” Marquinhos said.
“There are two different things in this action: the will to want to score and the commitment he made. He’s a great player, and he’s very motivated. Tomorrow, we have a great game, and we need our great players to play a good game. We’re not here to talk about the past. We learn from our mistakes, and we have to think about what to do tomorrow.”
