The ongoing contract extension talks between Paris Saint-Germain and superstar forward Kylian Mbappé continue to dominate the headlines. Real Madrid remains lurking in the background, ready to pounce as soon as the capital club decides to put up the for-sale sign.
Mbappé has reportedly stated his preference to negotiate with the French giants, but the clock is ticking as the summer months near. During his press conference, Mauricio Pochettino once again commented on the future of the 22-year-old. Canal Supporters relayed the statement from the Argentine tactician.
“We’ve had a great relationship for three months, like with Ney. I force myself to speak French to him, but he can speak to me in Spanish or English. We discuss well. I have a lot of affection for him. Who wouldn’t have any, by the way? His character, what he is on a daily basis, and of course the great player he is,” Mbappé said.
“I hope he will register here for many years, and I’m not selfishly saying this, but for the good of the club and Paris. He can help the club achieve great things. He seems to me to be a very mature, very happy kid. I hope he will decide to stay with us.”
