Video: ‘He Brought His Tranquility, His Humility’ – Leonardo on Mauricio Pochettino’s Tenure With PSG

Mauricio Pochettino jumped on a moving ship in January when Paris Saint-Germain brought in their former player to lead the club after they fired Thomas Tuchel.

PSG Sporting Director Leonardo spoke in-depth with Canal Plus, and one of the questions the club chief answered is over what Pochettino has brought since his appointment. Culture PSG relayed Leonardo’s comments to the French media outlet.

“A lot a lot! I think it was not easy for him. It happened in January; it’s always difficult. We already had a match planned against Barcelona to play. Now we are in the semi-finals of the Champions League. He brought his tranquility, his humility. Since his arrival, these have been essential values because by joining a team that made it to the Champions League final last season, you have to have the patience to understand everything,” Leonardo said.

“Slowly, he managed to combine these things with his ideas. The group understood this well. If you don’t have everything we talked about there, you won’t win against Bayern, nor Saint-Étienne. These were matches that smiled on us at the last minute, with something that worked in our favor. It’s nice to see this solidity. Now it’s up to us to capitalize on these last matches, which decide a bit of everything.”

Under Pochettino, PSG is back in the UEFA Champions League Semi-Finals with victories over FC Barcelona and FC Bayern Munich.
