Verratti Set a New Career High During PSG’s Ligue 1 Win Against Metz

Marco Verratti has had plenty of superb performance for Paris Saint-Germain this season and wound up adding another during the team’s Ligue 1 fixture against Metz.

Verratti returned to PSG’s starting 11 in the match and had one of the best performances by a midfielder this season. As noted by WhoScored, Verratti completed 14 tackles in the match, which was by far a game-high.

Overall, Verratti’s 14 tackles completed against Metz is a new career-high for him in a Ligue 1 fixture. More so, this figure is a new season-high for any player within Europe’s top five leagues over the ongoing campaign.

Verratti is also now averaging a formidable 2.6 tackles per game in league play this season.

The Italian midfielder simply continues to prove that he is well among the most complete midfielders in the sport today. The PSG star will certainly aim to lead the team’s midfield setup over its remaining fixtures this season.
